Faqs for Mood Alert.

Below are just some of the many questions we have been asked. If you have a separate query please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

What does the Alert number signify?

This index number is graded on a scale of one to ten.  One represents an extremely calm mood, whereas ten at the upper end of the scale means extreme rage or anger. It is important you also check on the more detailed analysis of this index number which can provide additional information such as the likelihood of depression or anxiety. It is interesting to note that since the time of its inception in January 2003 the lowest alert has been around 4. whilst on two occasions it has topped the maximum 10. The average has been around 7 - which shows just how stressful life can really be.

The Mood Alert says one thing and I feel another.

This could happen for a variety of reasons to do with ones personal circumstances. The sudden receipt of very good news or very bad news is one example, but in many cases discrepancies between the published report and ones actual feelings may have to do with medication or the consumption of alcohol or indeed any activity that may enhance or inhibit the free working of the mind. It is worth pointing out that the Mood Alert takes into account moderate consumption of say caffeine or alcohol and sometimes even advises over periods when even this level of consumption is likely to cause problems. Obviously someone high on drugs is going to find a very wide difference between the daily Mood Alert reading and their own feelings.

Who thought of the Mood Alert Index?

The Mood Alert Index was the result of many years research. This was in conjunction with Atlantis Publishing and Nasca. It was noticed that certain phases of the moon resulted in observable changes in mood and character.

Sometimes these psychological changes were of an extreme nature and it was felt that the responsible thing to do was give warning of these effects which also have important health implications. Hence we thought of the Mood Alert Index.

Does the Mood Alert rely on Astrology?

Yes and no. Mostly however the Mood Alert Index does not represent orthodox astrology. However there are resemblances. The main one is the belief that we as humans are fundamently affected by celestial forces.

Unlike astrology our index is not assessed according to birth dates but addresses those influences that affect us all in broadly similar ways. For this we look to the phases of the Moon, Solar eruptions, as well as eclipses and planetary alignments. Based on this evidence we make a judgement leading to the release of our index alert number.

Does the Mood Alert index always work?

There are special circumstances under which the prediction of the Mood Alert Index may not work. The principal reason is the use of medication, drugs or alcohol, or indeed any substance that impairs, enhances, or distorts the free working of the mind.

That said the Mood Alert Index still continues to provide a useful, if not entirely reliable guide to your mood. In these circumstances you may notice fluctuating effectiveness of your medication. Please remember never to stop taking prescribed medication without your doctors advice.

Can Mood Alert Index cure my headache?

The Mood Alert Index cannot cure your headache or backache if you already have one. However, if used carefully to achieve a more stress free life it can ensure that in future you will experience fewer and fewer headaches, backaches, or infirmity in general.

It is important to remember that The Mood Alert Index should never be used in place of a physicians adice. If you’re sick or depressed or have any other concerns about your health then you should seek expert medical advice.

What research have we done.

The Mood Alert Index is the result of at least ten years work. In conjunction with NASCA (The National Association for Scientific and Cultural Appreciation) and Atlantis Publishing we formulated a prediction index designed to alert people when extremes of emotion might be likely to affect their lives in a negative manner.

This research was also effective in isolating periods of turbulent weather as well as increased volcanic and seismic activity. The aim was to give people the chance to moderate their behaviour accordingly.

Will Mood Alert work on every continent?

The Mood Alert Index works just as well on any continent or hemisphere. There is some evidence of varying levels of intensity according to latitude but these disparities are too negligible to warrant the issuing of a separate index.

The fact is that wherever you are on this planet the Mood Alert Index will be fundamentally the same. Neither is it altered by extremes of heat or cold. The index is simply an estimate of the way we are likely to respond to circumstances around us.

Can the Mood Alert Index predict the future?

While the Mood Alert Index is able to predict the likely psychological mood of people thousands of years hence it is beyond the scope of this endeavour to provide a detailed future glimpse of any individuals life.

The reason for the Index is simply to provide warning against excess of emotion that in turn could lead to unpleasant consequences. This has as much relevance on an international scale as it does on a personal level, often having a bearing on outbreaks of serious public disorder.

Is everyone likewise affected?

The category of mood index is likely to affect everyone. The intensity however is not uniform. People react according to the index of their own individual character yet the overall index number as a ratio of their “normal self” is not changed.

We all have separate levels of extreme emotion which are peculiar to ourselves. The index number caters for all of these, and it will be evident to the individual that they are reacting this way. However one Index Number serves all purposes.

Can Mood Alert also predict the weather?

The weather and indeed the climate in general are profoundly affected by celestial influence. It stands to reason that extremes of human behaviour often run concurrently with great natural disasters. These not only involve disturbed weather patterns but include increased periods of earthquake and seismic activity.

It is important to understand the connection with natural phenomena because although these events and  influences cannot be avoided they can at least be predicted and bargained for.
