We are now just a few days away from the Full Moon and some may find this atmosphere to be particularly oppressive and laden with a highly
challenging atmosphere. In addition there is likely to be tense nervous restlessness that could make it difficult to settle.
Similarly there is the potential for pressing fears and concerns that will see problems magnified or possessed of a seemingly insoluble nature
that will be hard to resolve. This could lead to considerable emotional frustration with despair and agitation and the possibility of panic attacks or emotional outbursts that have the potential to reach
extremes.
As with any Full Moon atmosphere there will be a disposition towards contentious encounters, arguments and explosive situations that may not
easily be contained. Indeed where arguments develop there will be very little restraint in what is said or done and tempers may be prone to uncontrollable outbursts or even violence.
A special warning is needed concerning the consumption of alcohol whose effects will be unusually magnified, with the risk of extreme thoughts
and actions. Here the risk is particularly acute since the high tension of this time will naturally lead some to want to take the edge off the atmosphere through drinking more than usual. However this will not
so much relieve the tension but run the risk of considerable agitation as simmering resentments and animosities may be freed of restraint with explosive moods that will be hard to control. In fact this very
aptly sums up the current atmosphere, with tense and pressured feelings vying for release in a manner that could give rise to highly dramatic moods and circumstances.
Not surprisingly for a very heightened mood atmosphere there may be intense escapist tendencies that could prove distracting for ones normal
daily routine. As a result tasks may seem to be completed slower than usual and there is likely to be a great temptation for other more attractive alternatives, particularly those likely to offer swift emotional
gratification.
Under the circumstances there may also be a reduced degree of responsibility or loathing for situations requiring an authoritative approach.
Similarly there may be trouble making up ones mind with a hesitant and insecure outlook compounding ones decision making abilities.
The Sun is now beginning to align with Venus and in the stress filled couple of days before the Full Moon this could prove important in reducing
the tension of the atmosphere, with a more agreeable and sympathetic disposition.

We have often drawn attention to the fact that alignments of the Moon and Uranus whether as direct alignments or as an opposition harbour the
potential for particularly macabre and vicious crimes. This was never more apparent than this months opposition between the Moon and Uranus which saw a man in Austria decapitate his entire family. In a later
police interview the man calmly explained that he did what he did because he couldn’t face telling his family of his large financial losses.

Crowds rampage at football game.
Moon/Uranus alignments often result in acts of mass hysteria or powerful social unrest. This month this was never more evident than in the
English city of Manchester. Following the final of the UEFA Soccer cup disappointed fans of the losing team Rangers of Scotland, went on the rampage through the city centre attacking police officers as well as
causing widespread damage and disruption.

In a case that has just come to our attention during the last New Moon period - habitually a period of increased tension and anxiety, as well as
aggressive or brutal acts - a man in Saudi Arabia decapitated his nephew in full view of shoppers at a local shopping precinct.

Major earthquake strikes China.
Frequent visitors to this site will already be well aware that we are firmly convinced that major earthquakes cluster around the time of the
Full or New Moon. However there is another, but less well known period around the time when the Moon is 50% illuminated (or square to the Earth and Sun) that can also give rise to major quakes. This was
especially apparent yesterday as a massive earthquake of 8.0 magnitude shook wide areas of China and beyond.
Although first reports indicated that casualties were low it is now reported that over 10,000 people may have died in the disaster with
thousands of others made homeless.
As it is the incident serves as an apt illustration of a mini period of seismic danger that not many are aware of.

London Shooting.
The effects of alcohol during a particularly turbulent period of celestial influence, such as the last New Moon could not be more tragically
illustrated than a recent police shooting in the English capital London. A well educated and respected lawyer in the midst of a trying separation from his wife, became drunk and began firing through the window
of his luxury house in an exclusive district of central London. Police were called and after a four hour stand-off shot the man dead.

Natural disasters follow New Moon period.
We have often maintained that the periods around the Full or New Moon are susceptible to major natural disaster and the current New Moon period
is a powerful illustration of this. In Chile for example a major on going eruption of the Chaiten volcano in the south of the country has forced the evacuation of over 4000 inhabitants of the region as the
volcano continued to spew hot ash and smoke over neighbouring towns and villages. A further indication of the strong forces involved is the fact that the volcano had not previously erupted for around 2000 years.
Meanwhile in Myanmar, or Burmah as it is otherwise known, a devastating tropical cyclone has left at least 15,000 dead and thousands homeless.

Cycle 24 is underway
The latest Sun spot cycle is now underway. The Sun’s activity is never quite constant and for reasons not fully understood corresponds to a
cycle that takes 11 years to complete. We are currently exiting a period of low Solar activity and
beginning the slow journey to the peak of Cycle 24 that will occur sometime between 2010 and 2012. For more on this please go to the following link: Cycle 24 begins.
The effects of Pluto
It should be mentioned that since early November Jupiter has been in close alignment with Pluto. We have not devoted much space to this
alignment because there is some debate as to what precisely, if any, the effects of Pluto really are?
There is also some debate as to what Pluto really is. Formerly it was regarded as a planet, but has now been reclassified as a minor planet,
number 134340. Unlike most of the other “planets” its discovery was quite late, and it was not until 1930 that its existence was finally confirmed, even though it had been largely predicted since 1840.
But does Pluto have any effect on moods and emotions? Here several things spring to mind. The first is that Pluto is quite remote from the
Earth. The second is that Pluto is quite tiny in size - less than a fifth the mass of the Moon. Taking these two factors together it is clear that whatever effects it does have, must be slight and very subtle.
The fact is we don’t really know.
As a newly discovered “planet.” there is less than a hundred years of experience to draw upon which is too little to form any firm conclusions.
However the fact that Pluto does influence things is beyond doubt as it was precisely its invisible effects on other planets in the Solar system that first lead to its discovery.
You also have to take into account that because of its remoteness, alignments of Pluto with some of the other planets only come around after
relatively long periods of time. For example the current Jupiter/Pluto alignment occurs only once in every 13 years, and there have been only about six since the time of its discovery. Hence any conclusions
based on its mood effects must be tempered by scepticism, and this is why we have made little if any reference to this alignment. Nevertheless some authorities feel qualified to bring out likely
prognostications, and with some reservation we include the likely effects of the current Jupiter/Pluto alignment which are shown below:

obsessional forms of compensation for personal inadequacies.”
